July 21st thru 24th at Miller Outdoor Theatre July 21, 11 a.m. KIAN LONG, TEXAS PIONEER is the story of Kian Long, the slave and lifelong companion of Jane Long, one of the first white women to settle in Texas. Enjoy the historical tale of struggle and survival as Kian recounts the days of the Texas Revolution in the 1830s as seen through the eyes of a slave. Written and directed by Shirley Marks Whitmore. Produced by Express Children’s Theatre Miller Outdoor Theatre, where performances are always free, has entertained and delighted several generations of Houstonians. Pack a picnic basket, a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the performance from the hill, or sit in the brand new seats under the canopy.
